Jimmy Bartel is not human
One of the few plays who haven’t demonstrated the post-Brownlow form slump, averaging 110 in so far in 2008.
The first year players just keep getting better
Players like Rhys Palmer (averaging 80), Cyril Rioli (75), Josh Hill (73) Ryan Gamble (64), Matthew Kreuzer (62) have shown plenty.
Public urination is an effective Dream Team score enhancer
Town window cleaners Brendan Fevola and Kane Johnson have shown some terrific form after being court in the act.
16 years is one too many for Brad Johnson
With an average of just 75, Johno is having his worst season since 1998. Perhaps injuries are finally catching up to the Bulldog veteran.
Dean Cox is a superstar
Even with an injury-riddled body, big Cox is averaging 104.
The Cornes boys have each other captain in their Dream Teams
That’s my theory anyway. It’s uncanny how often they dish off the ball to each other just to rack up the points for their Dream Teams.
Sydney are as miserly as ever
Despite some big numbers in the Geelong vs. Sydney game, generally players are still incapable of posting any kind of respectable score.
Some players do get better with age
Players like Kane Johnson, Matthew Richardson, Andrew McLeod and Shane Crawford are all enjoying stellar sesons, defying their aging bodies.
Teams have found a sure-fire way to negate Jonathan Brown
With Johno averaging just 65, teams have discovered that playing five defenders on the big unit often minimises his effect on the game.
Those Geelong boys are a class above the rest
Joel Corey, Jimmy Bartel and Gary Ablett are ranked 1st, 2nd and 4th in Dream Team points respectively.
Some Dream Team coaches just aren’t paying attention:
The following players should appear in any teams:
- Danny Jacobs (retired) and yet 404 coaches still see him as worthwhile inclusion to their teams
- Nick Malceski (knee injury), injury aside, for $377,100 I couldn’t see him getting a place in my side, but 924 coaches beg to differ.
- Simon Prestigiacomo (won’t get a game all season) a very popular choice, appearing in 4,623 teams despite the fact he’s never scored more than 7 points in a match
- Kepler Bradley (…it’s Kepler Bradley) appear in 2,006 teams.
